Details

This product is a porous carbon paper composed of carbon fiber and carbon, processed through high-temperature heat treatment to achieve a stable, corrosion-resistant structure. With a thickness of 0.19 mm and a porosity of approximately 78%, it offers high gas permeability and good through-plane electrical conductivity (80 mΩcm² in the thickness direction). Its flexural modulus of 10 MPa provides adequate mechanical support while maintaining a thin profile. The material exhibits low surface resistance (5.8 mΩcm² one-sided) and uniform surface smoothness, making it suitable as an electrode substrate for fuel cells. It is available in hydrophilic, hydrophobic microporous layer, and hydrophobic variants, each tailored for specific water management and gas diffusion requirements in electrochemical systems.

Toray Carbon Paper

Product Advantages

Toray carbon paper is a composite product of porous C/C (carbon fiber and carbon) produced by high temperature heat treatment. With excellent characteristics, it is used as an electrode base material and other electrodes for fuel cells.

Features:

1. High conductivity: Carbon fiber has strong conductivity due to the arrangement of carbon elements.

2. High strength: thin and high strength, with excellent compression characteristics.

3. High gas permeability: High porosity (about 78%), easily allowing other substances to pass through.

4. Corrosion resistance: Only carbon that has undergone high temperature treatment, with few impurities and excellent corrosion resistance.

5. Surface smoothness: Carbon fibers are distributed in one direction, resulting in excellent surface smoothness with fewer surface irregularities.

6. Good uniformity and consistency.

  • Toray 060 25*25cm waterproof treatment - the waterproof layer is 20% PTFE

  • Toray 060 25*25cm waterproof with microporous layer, waterproof layer is done first and then microporous layer, the microporous layer is a mixture of these two 20% PTFE + 2mgC paste coating
