Details

This research-grade copper foam (1.0 mm thickness) is developed for use as an electrode substrate or current collector in advanced battery and supercapacitor research. With a through‑porous ratio of ≥90%, a pore density of 130±10 PPI, and a surface density of 600±50 g/m², it offers high electrical and thermal conductivity suitable for nickel‑zinc batteries, supercapacitors, and catalytic applications. The material can serve directly as an electrode skeleton or as a catalyst support for organic reactions and photocatalytic air purification, and its thermal properties also make it effective for heat dissipation and flame‑retardant uses in electrical equipment. Manufactured to a thickness tolerance of ±0.1 mm, it requires no pre‑washing before use, enabling consistent experimental results.

(1) Electrode material. Excellent conductivity allows copper foam to be widely used as electrode skeleton material in new types of batteries such as nickel-zinc batteries and supercapacitors. At present, copper foam has been tested and put into mass production by many nickel-zinc battery manufacturers. Copper foam is also expected to be widely used as electrode collector for supercapacitors. In addition, copper foam has broad prospects as an electrode material for recycling copper-containing wastewater.

(2) Catalyst. In many organic chemical reactions, attempts have been made to directly use copper foam with a large specific surface area as a catalyst instead of perforated copper foil. Copper foam has also achieved successful applications as a carrier for photocatalytic air purification.

(3) Thermal conductivity material. Copper foam has excellent thermal conductivity, making it an excellent flame retardant material that has been used in many advanced firefighting equipment abroad, especially as a flame isolating material with excellent effects. In addition, copper foam is used as a heat dissipation material for motors and electrical appliances due to its excellent thermal conductivity and apparent permeability.
