The Fumasep FKS-50 is a transparent cation exchange membrane with a thickness of approximately 50 μm, delivered in dry form requiring self-activation before use. It offers a low area resistance of 1.8–2.5 Ω/cm² in sodium ion form, combined with high ion selectivity (97–99%) and an ion exchange capacity of 1.2–1.4 meq/g. The membrane exhibits minimal swelling (0–2% water absorption swelling rate) and broad pH stability from 1 to 14, supporting robust performance under acidic or alkaline conditions. These properties make it suitable for applications requiring efficient cationic transport and separation, including chemical synthesis and energy conversion.
