1. Store in a vacuum or inside a glove box, using double-layered zip‑lock bags; improper storage, especially for high‑nickel and sodium‑ion cathode materials, can lead to an increase in the battery’s internal resistance. 2. If the electrode sheets have not been calendered, they should be calendered according to the recommended compaction density. 3. The coating mass per unit area must be determined based on the actual measured weight; it does not include the current collector. 4. To calculate the active‑material mass (mg) from the measured weight: (weight of the small disc, mg) – (current‑collector mass per unit area, mg/cm² × area of the small disc, cm²) × active‑material fraction. 5. The theoretical active‑material mass (mg) = coating mass per unit area (mg/cm²) × active‑material fraction × area of the small disc (cm²). 6. Theoretical areal capacity (mAh/cm²) = coating mass per unit area (mg/cm²) × active‑material fraction × specific capacity (mAh/g) ÷ 1000. 7. When calculating specific capacity, use the active‑material mass determined by the actual measured weight; due to tolerances in the coating mass per unit area, the measured value shall prevail. 8. Creasing: After calendering, single‑sided electrodes tend to curl; flattening and packaging may result in creases.

During electrode‑sheet slitting, slight material loss occurs at the edges, as shown in the figure below.
Cutting recommendations:
1. When punching, position the foil side toward the die edge and keep the coated side away from it;
2. Use a punch with a sharp blade;
3. If the punch blade is dull, try placing a sheet of weighing paper underneath during punching.
