samarium doped cerium oxide SDC20, I .e. S'm'Ce. O', is doped with cerium oxide (CeO₂) as the base and samarium (Sm) at a mole fraction of 20%. In terms of crystal structure, Sm³ enters the crystal lattice of CeO₂ to form a fluorite-type structure. Due to the difference in ionic radii between Sm³ and Ce ³, oxygen vacancies will be introduced into the crystal lattice, which has an important impact on its performance.
