Details

The Whatman GF/A glass fiber membrane is a high-performance separator designed for advanced battery research, including sodium, potassium, lithium-air, and zinc battery systems. Featuring a binder-free structure, it offers high porosity, rapid flow rates, and excellent particle retention, enabling efficient ion transport and reliable separator performance. Its robust mechanical and thermal stability supports operating temperatures up to 550°C (optimal 300–400°C), making it suitable for quality control processes such as electrode potential determination. Beyond battery applications, it is widely used in precise filtration of drug solvents, environmental monitoring of pollutants like PM2.5 and PAHs, and biochemical assays including protein filtration. Available in multiple diameters from 1.3 cm to 24 cm, this membrane combines versatility with consistent technical performance for both research and industrial filtration needs.

GF/A

No adhesive, small particle interception, fast flow rate, high loading capacity. It is used for precise filtration of drug powder solvent before drug determination, or for detection of wastewater pollution, air pollution, algae and bacterial culture, food analysis, protein filtration and γ-radioimmunoassay, as well as collection of radioactive iodine, automobile exhaust smoke, environmental air PM2.5 mass concentration, determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), etc. It is also used as a battery separator for lithium-ion batteries or for quality control processes of battery materials (such as electrode potential determination). GF/A provides disposable filtration funnels.

The specifications marked with "*" are regular products. It is recommended to purchase this type of specification model. The delivery time for other specifications is relatively long. Please contact customer service to confirm the delivery time when placing an order. The theoretical maximum tolerance temperature is 550 ℃ (there are many limitations, such as the temperature needs to gradually and uniformly rise, and baking should not exceed 1 hour when reaching the highest temperature). It is recommended to control the actual maximum temperature between 300-400 degrees Celsius.
