This electrolyte, formulated as 1.0 M LiPF6 in a 1:1 vol% mixture of ethylene carbonate (EC) and ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) with 2.0% fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC), is developed for evaluating lithium-ion battery performance at the laboratory scale. The balanced solvent composition provides moderate viscosity and good ionic conductivity, while the FEC additive promotes the formation of a stable solid-electrolyte interphase, enhancing cycling stability particularly in high-voltage or silicon-containing anode systems. Supplied by Canrd under model MA-EN-ET-0231, this electrolyte is available in quantities from 50 g to 1 kg, accommodating typical coin-cell or pouch-cell assembly studies.
