Details

This product is a research-grade battery copper foam with a thickness of 1.5 mm, developed for experimental applications in energy materials and current collectors. Featuring a high through-porous ratio of at least 90% and a pore density of 130±10 PPI, this copper foam offers excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, making it suitable for use as an electrode skeleton material in nickel-zinc batteries and supercapacitors, as well as a potential current collector. Its open-cell structure and surface density of 600±50 g/m² also support catalytic applications, such as a catalyst support in organic reactions or photocatalytic air purification. Additionally, the material’s thermal properties enable its use as a flame retardant or heat dissipation component. The foam is supplied ready-to-use without prior washing, with a thickness tolerance of ±0.1 mm, ensuring consistent performance across research and development setups.

(1) Electrode material. Excellent conductivity allows copper foam to be widely used as electrode skeleton material in new types of batteries such as nickel-zinc batteries and supercapacitors. At present, copper foam has been tested and put into mass production by many nickel-zinc battery manufacturers. Copper foam is also expected to be widely used as electrode collector for supercapacitors. In addition, copper foam has broad prospects as an electrode material for recycling copper-containing wastewater.

(2) Catalyst. In many organic chemical reactions, attempts have been made to directly use copper foam with a large specific surface area as a catalyst instead of perforated copper foil. Copper foam has also achieved successful applications as a carrier for photocatalytic air purification.

(3) Thermal conductivity material. Copper foam has excellent thermal conductivity, making it an excellent flame retardant material that has been used in many advanced firefighting equipment abroad, especially as a flame isolating material with excellent effects. In addition, copper foam is used as a heat dissipation material for motors and electrical appliances due to its excellent thermal conductivity and apparent permeability.
