(Among conventional infrared window materials including Ge, ZnSe and Si, Ge is relatively chemically active. When Cu[23] and Ag[24-25] thin-film electrodes are deposited on Ge substrates, suitable electrochemical responses can only be obtained at potentials negative to open-circuit potential. During anodic potential scanning, high anodic current from the Ge substrate will mask the electrochemical signals of metallic electrodes and even cause delamination of metal thin films. In addition, ZnSe is unstable in acidic and alkaline solutions, making it unsuitable as window material for electrochemical ATR-SEIRAS measurements.)
 
• This electrochemical cell utilizes springs to adjust compression load, which enables tight contact between cathode/anode electrode sheets and separator of the test battery. Double O-rings ensure reliable sealing of the cell body. After assembly inside a glove box, the cell maintains excellent sealing performance and assembly repeatability even when transferred to ambient atmosphere.
