This product is designed for use as a current collector in lithium-ion and lithium-sulfur batteries, featuring a conductive carbon coating applied to aluminum foil. Available in both single-sided and double-sided configurations, it supports a range of cathode chemistries including lithium iron phosphate, ternary, lithium cobalt oxide, and lithium-sulfur systems, with specific variants optimized for either oil-based or water-based electrode processes. The uniform carbon layer, approximately 1 µm per side, enhances static conductivity, reduces contact resistance between the active material and the current collector, and improves adhesion, allowing for reduced binder usage. Common applications include experimental energy storage research and battery electrode fabrication where consistent interfacial performance is required. Proper storage in a dry environment and airtight sealing after use are recommended to prevent moisture absorption, particularly for the lithium-ion grade. Coated Carbon Aluminum Foil

1. Lithium-ion battery single/double-sided carbon coating: Primarily used for lithium iron phosphate oil-based cathodes, but can also be used for ternary or lithium cobalt oxide oil-based cathodes or lithium-sulfur oil-based cathodes (coating is not water-resistant; suitable for non-aqueous systems; highly versatile).

2. Lithium-sulfur single/double-sided carbon coating: Suitable for lithium-sulfur aqueous cathodes (e.g., PAA and SBR aqueous binders).

3. Good coating uniformity and consistency; single-sided coating thickness ~1µm, double-sided thickness ~2µm. The thickness in the specifications is substrate thickness * substrate width * roll weight. Different roll weights indicate different lengths in meters.

5. 1m² product is a sheet, approximately the size of an A4 sheet; approximately a dozen sheets are shipped (effective area 1m²).

6. Precautions for use: Seal immediately after use to avoid water absorption (especially for lithium-ion battery single/double-sided carbon coating). Storage in a dry room is recommended for better results.

Note:

Carbon-coated aluminum foil is made by uniformly and finely coating dispersed nano-conductive graphite and carbon-coated particles or other superconducting and thermally conductive materials onto aluminum/copper foil.

When used in battery current collectors, it provides excellent static conductivity, collects the micro-currents from the active material, and thus significantly reduces the contact resistance between the positive and negative electrode materials and the current collector.

It also improves the adhesion between them, reduces the amount of binder used, and consequently significantly improves various aspects of battery performance.

In other industrial applications, it improves interfacial resistance and increases electrical and thermal conductivity.
