Manufactured via slip or die casting and fired at 1800°C, the dense corundum body offers reliable thermal stability up to 1600°C. Available in multiple dimensional variants, each with a front-end opening, this saggar is suited for heat-treating powders, small components, or samples under controlled atmospheres. To ensure service life, it is recommended to pre-bake at 105°C to remove moisture and to follow specified heating and cooling rates—below 5°C/min under 1200°C and below 4°C/min above that. Direct flame or torch heating should be avoided to prevent thermal shock. The included cover functions primarily as a dust shield rather than an airtight seal.
