This product is designed for use as a separator membrane in sodium-ion, potassium-ion, zinc, and lithium-air battery systems, as well as in lithium-ion button cells. The Whatman GF/D glass fiber membrane offers high porosity and excellent electrolyte adsorption, which improves electrolyte retention and cycle performance. It also exhibits good thermal stability, with a theoretical maximum tolerance of 550 °C (practical use recommended between 300–400 °C), and features ultra-high mechanical strength and fast flow rates. Commonly applied for pre-filtration or as a battery separator, the GF/D membrane enhances rate capability due to its structure. Available in various diameters and sheet counts, this material is well-suited for research involving advanced energy storage systems requiring reliable, high-performance separator properties.

GF/D:

Without adhesive, the flow rate is quite fast, and under the same conditions, the filtration speed is faster than that of cotton fiber filter paper. The load capacity is very high, and it is often used as a pre filtration before precision membrane filtration or for intercepting pollutants in organic solvents such as oil. GF/D glass fiber membrane has ultra-high mechanical strength and excellent liquid absorption performance, and is often used as a separator for lithium-ion batteries to increase rate performance.

Primarily used in sodium/potassium/zinc battery systems and some lithium-ion button cell systems, GF glass fiber insulating film features good thermal stability, excellent electrolyte adsorption performance, and high porosity, improving electrolyte retention and thus cycle performance.

The theoretical maximum tolerance temperature is 550 ℃ (there are many limitations, such as the temperature needs to gradually and uniformly rise, and baking should not exceed 1 hour when reaching the highest temperature). It is recommended to control the actual maximum temperature between 300-400 degrees Celsius.
