This electrolyte formulation, based on 1.0 M LiPF6 in a 1:1 vol% mixture of ethylene carbonate (EC) and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) with 1.0% vinylene carbonate (VC) additive, is designed for lithium battery research and development. The inclusion of VC aids in forming a stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on the anode surface, which is critical for improving cycle life and coulombic efficiency in lab-scale coin cells or pouch cells.
