This product is designed as a ready-to-use sodium negative electrode chip for coin cell assembly, specifically developed for research on sodium-ion batteries and related energy storage systems. The chip features a composite structure consisting of a transparent protective film, a high-purity sodium layer (≥99.7%), an aluminum foil current collector, and a blue protective film. Available in standard diameters such as 15.6 mm, 14 mm, and 18 mm, with a uniform thickness of 0.45 mm, the chip ensures consistent surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy. This design minimizes common issues like surface burrs, uneven size, or micro-short circuits that can arise from manually prepared electrodes. The product is supplied in a vacuum-sealed can with argon protection, requiring handling inside a glove box. Common applications include use as the anode in CR2032, CR2025, or CR2016 button cells for evaluating electrode materials or electrolytes in sodium-based battery research.

  • A video must be recorded before unpacking the product. This video must include the dew point in the dry room or glove box, water and oxygen levels, the product production date, and a clear appearance. Any abnormal appearance after unpacking without video evidence will not be handled (appearance abnormalities after the expiration date will not be accepted).
1. Video the unpacking environment: a dry room (dew point -45°C) or a glove box with water and oxygen levels (H₂O, O₂ <1 ppm).
 
2. Photograph the can/package to ensure the seal is intact and the production date is displayed. If the packaging is intact, open the package and inspect. Take a close-up photo of the product to clearly see its true condition. Then, remove the product and place it on a stainless steel or porcelain plate for close inspection. Take a small amount of product and take a clear, local photo. The entire unpacking video must be recorded continuously.
Failure to follow the instructions will be considered a product defect caused by the user.

1. There is air inside the plastic black can. Open the can outside the glove box, and take the aluminum foil bag into the glove box before unpacking (it is recommended to unpack the aluminum foil bag before use, it is better for storage, and it is not recommended to stock too much, buy as needed).

2. Hold the flat and widened tweezers with your left hand, and use the pointed stainless steel tweezers with your right hand. It is best not to use rubber tweezers to remove the film.

3. Both sides of the film (blue film, transparent film) should be removed. You can also remove the film with the help of the instructional video (remove the blue film first, then remove the transparent film). Install one battery per peeled piece, and tightly seal the remaining products in a white bottle for long-term storage.

4. The side with the blue film is aluminum foil, and the transparent film is sodium piece. Install it facing the separator and avoid installing it in reverse.

5. Both sides of the film should be removed (aluminum foil can be left unpeeled).

The composite sodium electrode piece is divided into four layers, from top to bottom: transparent protective film, sodium piece, aluminum foil, blue protective film. The diameter of the sodium electrode piece is 15.6/14/18mm (commonly used specification is 15.6mm), with an overall thickness of 0.45-0.55mm (pure sodium piece thickness is 0.4-0.5mm), purity is above 99.7%, specially designed for button batteries (2032, 2025, 2016).

Supplementary Instructions for Use:

1. Purify the glove box in advance to achieve water and oxygen levels (H₂O, O₂) < 0.1 ppm, with optimal conditions controlled at < 0.01 ppm, and maintain an inert gas atmosphere (e.g., 99.999% high-purity argon).
 
2. The black plastic can contains air. Open the can in a dry environment outside the glove box, remove the vacuum aluminum-plastic bag, and transfer the unopened bag into the purified glove box after confirming it is intact. (It is recommended not to open the aluminum-plastic bag until use; keeping it sealed is better for preservation. Excessive stockpiling is not advised; purchase only as needed.)It is recommended to store the bag in the glove box for at least 1 day before opening (to remove surface moisture using circulating argon). Before taking out the white plastic bottle, inspect the seal layer at the bottle mouth to ensure it is intact and undamaged before accessing the sodium discs.
 
3. The white plastic bottle is filled with argon, and the aluminum-plastic bag is vacuum-sealed. However, residual small amounts of dry air inside the bottle and bag cannot be ruled out. A rise in glove box oxygen level after opening the bag and bottle is normal; simply purge the glove box atmosphere with inert gas (e.g., 99.999% high-purity argon).
 
4. Hold the disc near its center with wide-tipped flat tweezers, then grip the raised edge with stainless steel pointed tweezers to gently lift the starting end of the protective film. Peel the film using round-tipped tweezers. It is recommended to first remove the protective film (blue film) from the aluminum foil surface, then remove the protective film (transparent film) from the sodium disc surface.
 
5. Both side films (blue film and transparent film) must be removed (the aluminum foil itself does not need to be peeled). You may also follow the operation video for film removal (peel the blue film first, then the transparent film). Assemble one battery per peeled disc. Place remaining products back into the white bottle and tighten the cap for long-term storage.
 
6. The side with the blue film is the aluminum foil; the side with the transparent film is the sodium disc. Assemble with the sodium disc facing the separator. Do not install in reverse.

 

The size is uniform, the surface is smooth and bright, it can be stored for a long time, used as needed, greatly improving the efficiency and performance consistency and stability of battery assembly, avoiding low efficiency of self-made discs, inconsistent performance caused by uneven size, and micro short circuit caused by burrs and scratches on the surface.
