Details

This sulfide solid electrolyte, lithium-phosphorus-sulfur-chlorine (Li₆PS₅Cl, LPSC), is developed as a high-performance ion-conductive material for all-solid-state battery research. With a median particle size (D50) around 15 µm and a crystalline main phase of Li₇PS₆, it appears as a grayish-white powder. The material exhibits an ionic conductivity of 4.18 mS/cm at 25 °C under 350 MPa, coupled with a very low electronic conductivity of 7.18 nS/cm, making it suitable as a solid electrolyte layer or as a component in composite cathodes. Its well-defined particle size distribution supports consistent processing in pellet formation and slurry-based electrode fabrication. This LPSC system is particularly relevant for studies aiming to improve interfacial stability and ionic transport in sulfide-based solid-state batteries.

Test conditions:

(1) XRD test: Samples were prepared in an inert atmosphere glove box, avoiding polar solvent atmospheres. The surface was sealed with polyimide film to isolate air and moisture.

(2) Ionic conductivity test: 100 mg of powder was used, a mold diameter of 10 mm was applied, and a pressure of 350 MPa was applied to form a pellet. The pressure was maintained at 350 MPa. EIS test: frequency 1 MHz ~ 1 Hz, amplitude 10 mV.

(3) Electronic conductivity test: 100 mg of powder was used, a mold diameter of 10 mm was applied, a pressure of 350 MPa was applied, and the pressure was maintained at 350 MPa. i-t test: constant voltage 0.5 V, test time 1800 s.
