Materials and Applications of Microfiltration Membrane:
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Characteristics: Imported membrane from the United States, originated from an American membrane company in 1915. It is a hydrophobic membrane that becomes a hydrophilic membrane after treatment with ethanol or isopropanol. Hydrophobic membranes cannot be naturally wetted, while hydrophilic membranes can be naturally wetted. It has good resistance to high temperatures, strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, and oxidants, and is compatible with the majority of chemical solvents.
Applications: Used for sterilization filtration of water and solvents; gas sterilization filtration and vacuum filtration; high-purity gas filtration in the electronic industry; steam filtration; sterilizing exhaust filtration in the food industry's fermentation tanks, storage tanks, and ingredient tanks.
Introduction of Microfiltration Membrane Product:
In the application of membrane separation technology, microfiltration membrane is the most widely used type of membrane, which is simple and convenient to use. It has the characteristics of high gas flux, high particle interception rate, good temperature resistance, resistance to strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, and oxidants, aging resistance, non-stickiness, non-flammability, non-toxicity, and good biocompatibility. The materials of microfiltration membranes are divided into two categories: organic and inorganic. Due to the separation characteristics of microfiltration membranes, the main application of microfiltration membranes is to intercept particles, bacteria, and other pollutants from gas and liquid phases to achieve purification, separation, and concentration purposes. For microfiltration, the retention characteristics of the membrane are characterized by the pore size of the membrane, usually ranging from 0.1 to 1 µm, so microfiltration membranes can separate large-diameter bacteria, suspended solids, etc. They can be used for clarification of general liquid materials, security filtration, and air sterilization. Widely used in scientific research, medicine and health, biochemistry, food, energy, microelectronics industry, nanotechnology, environmental protection, and other departments.
Applications of Microfiltration Membrane:
This product is mainly used for filtration of mobile phases and samples in chromatographic analysis, and has a good effect on protecting chromatographic columns, infusion pump systems, injection valves, and other components from contamination. Widely used in weight analysis, trace analysis, colloid separation, and sterile tests. During use, select the appropriate membrane according to the filtered sample.
