Sometimes early reactions can passivate the surface, which is not necessarily bad. Use a standard 2032 case and follow the same assembly procedure as for liquid cells. The only caution is to use a manual crimper to slowly apply pressure when sealing; it is best not to use an electric crimper. Crimp until the claw walls around the perimeter (the positive case covering the edge of the negative case) are slightly deformed — it is not necessary to fully encase them as with liquid cells. The pressure is about 500 MPa, adjustable according to the actual equipment used; mainly judge by the extent of deformation of the case edge. Excessive pressure can cause breakage. The assembled parts must be aligned, pressure applied evenly, and done slowly.

[Main reasons for PVDF slurry discoloration] High temperature or alkaline groups (free amine concentration in NMP). The presence of alkaline groups leads to dehydrogenation and defluorination of PVDF, forming conjugated double bonds; due to their light absorption this causes the solution to discolor. During high-speed stirring and dispersion, the solution temperature should not be too high. High molecular weight PVDF, copolymerization and modification can all reduce discoloration. Generally discoloration does not affect PVDF performance and can be used safely depending on the situation; if the discoloration is very deep it may affect experimental results.

The sintering temperature for nanopowder is slightly lower than for micron powder.
