This product, Canrd's coated carbon copper foil (model MA-EN-CU-0004), is developed as a specialized current collector for lithium-ion battery research and energy material experiments. Unlike conventional copper foil, it features a single-sided carbon coating approximately 1 μm thick, applied uniformly to enhance electrical conductivity, reduce internal resistivity, and improve mechanical toughness. The carbon layer also helps suppress burr-induced short circuits, strengthens adhesion of the electrode material, and supports higher discharge capacity over extended battery cycles. Available in rolls with a substrate thickness of 8 μm and a coating width of 232 mm, it is primarily intended for use as a negative electrode substrate in prototype cells or laboratory-scale battery assemblies. For smaller trial runs, sheet-form samples (~A4 size, 1 m² total area) are also offered. This foil balances practical handling with reliable performance for systematic electrode optimization studies.
